During the period under report, 8 training programmes were organized on subjects of varied interest in library,

information and computer sciences. The training programmes, varying from 2 to 5 days, were organized on
Installation and operation of SOUL Software, Shodhganga and Anti-Plagiarism Software, Bibliographic and
Scientometric Analysis, Setting-up of Digital Library using DSpace, R Programming for Statistical Analyses,
Metadata Standards and e-Resource Management.

The Centre has been contributing and launching India Rankings 2016 as well as India Rankings 2017. The

Ministry of Human Resource Development duly recognized the important role played by the Centre. The Centre

was invited to participate in the launching of India Rankings 2017 on 3 April, 2017 at Shastri Bhavan, New Delhi.
Moreover, Six scientists including Director of the Centre was invited to the India Rankings 2017 Award Ceremony

held on 10 April, 2017 at Rashtrapati Bhavan Cultural Centre wherein awards were presented to the top ranking
institutions in various category by Shri Pranab Mukherjee, Hon'ble the then President of India.

The feature article in this issue of the Newsletter is entitled "Access to E-Resources for Indian Higher Education
System and the Role of INFED”, the first and only Shibboleth-based Access Management Federation in India, by
Mr. Raja V, Scientist B (CS) and Mr. Yatrik Patel, Scientist D (CS). I am sure, you would enjoy reading the article

and would initiate the process of joining this initiative.
